Are you passionate about working with youth and families? Do you want a career where you can make a meaningful difference? The Youth Connection is looking for a Prevention Program Facilitator to lead engaging, evidence-based programs that support youth and families across Metro Detroit.
This is a great opportunity for someone early in their career who wants hands-on experience, professional growth, and support toward earning MCBAP prevention credentials.
What You’ll Do:
As a Prevention Program Facilitator, you will:
- Learn and lead weekly prevention programs such as:
- Botvin LifeSkills.
- Strengthening Families (Ages 10–14).
- I2D2 Fit ‘N’ Fun Family Club.
- Facilitate sessions in schools, community centers, churches, and other local settings.
- Build positive relationships with youth, families, and community partners.
- Track attendance and enter program data for reporting purposes.
- Follow up with participants to encourage engagement and retention.
- Represent The Youth Connection at community meetings and events.
- Support team events and organizational initiatives .
What a Typical Week Looks Like:
- Leading group sessions with youth and families.
- Coordinating with schools or community partners.
- Completing session documentation and data entry.
- Attending team or program meetings.
- Preparing for upcoming sessions.
What We’re Looking For:
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree (ability to obtain official transcripts from college for MCBAP Development Plan).
- 6 months – 2 years of experience working with youth, schools, or community programs.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to stay organized and manage multiple tasks.
- Comfortable speaking in front of groups (10+ participants).
- Basic computer skills (Microsoft Word, data entry systems).
- Valid driver’s license, have reliable transportation and auto insurance.
Preferred:
- Experience facilitating youth groups or community programs in prevention.

Schedule & Requirements:
- Primarily forty (40) weekday hours, with occasional evenings and weekends.
