Position Title: SPF-PFS Community Organizer

Reports To: Director of Community Outreach
Salary: $30,000 – $35,000 + Benefits

The Youth Connection is looking for a Community Organizer to help lead youth-driven initiatives focused on leadership development, substance use prevention, and community change in Metro Detroit.

What You’ll Do:
- Build and support youth leadership groups in Metro Detroit.
- Organize and mobilize youth and adults around community initiatives.
- Develop relationships with schools, parents, and community partners.
- Support college campus outreach and organizing efforts.
- Help plan and execute community campaigns and events.
- Facilitate workshops, trainings, and youth engagement activities.
- Assist with program evaluation and data tracking.
What You Bring:
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree.
- 1+ year experience in community work, youth programs, or organizing.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Have a valid driver’s license, reliable transportation and auto insurance.
Preferred:
- Experience with youth development, community organizing, or prevention programs.
- Passion for working with youth and underserved communities.
- Comfortable facilitating groups, workshops, or trainings.
- Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office or similar tools).

Work Environment:
- Work primarily forty (40) weekday hours (some evenings/weekends required).
- Community-based work across Metro Detroit (Wayne County).
- Combination of fieldwork, office work, and events.
